This small community of about 450-550 residents is mainly known as "el pueblo de los chivos" meaning the town of goat

To get to Gaspar, Cuba one must pass by "El Centro" which is the most exact middle point of Cuba (located on Carretera Central). This road runs from the far east point of Cuba all the way to the West of Cuba; passing by every province. Gaspar is located 1 kilometer south of the Highway and "El Centro", and along the Cuban Railway
