Gary White is a UEFA 'A' Licensed professional soccer coach with FIFA international experience and is the current technical director for Washington Youth Soccer. In October 2011 he was hand selected as one of only sixteen (16) coaches globally by The FA to attend their new prestigious Elite Coaching License. This license is unique in world football and is the highest practical coaching award offered by The FA. Gary is the former technical director and head coach of the Virgin Islands and Bahamas national football teams. White has 10 years of FIFA International coaching experience competing in one of the most difficult world cup qualifying confederations (CONCACAF) he is still one of the youngest National Team coaches in FIFA history. White also serves on both US Soccer's National Coaching Staff and US Soccer's player develpment task force. He has also worked on FIFA's Technical Study Groups & Coaching instructor staff.

Professional Playing Career

White signed for Freemantle City Soccer Club in the Australian Professional Soccer League in 1994, where he played two seasons for the club. Prior to signing for the Australian professional outfit, White played for Bognor Regis Town FC, who at the time were coached by local legend Jack Pearce in the GM Vauxhual Conference. After being released by Southampton FC he bounced between many clubs before finding his home at Bognor Regis Town FC. During White's time in Australia he set up his own soccer academy and began to focus on a coaching career.

Professional Coaching Career & Achievements

White's previous professional coaching experience includes, National Technical Director and Head Coach for the British Virgin Islands Football Association, where he had success during the CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifiers which resulted in the National Team shooting up the FIFA world rankings 28 places (1999). White was one of the youngest ever (2001) National Team Coaches/ Technical Directors when he took his role with the British Virgin Islands Football Association aged just 24 years old and he was also one of the youngest ever coaches to compete in a FIFA World Cup (2002) at just 25 years old.

After this initial success White's signature was chased by other CONCACAF National Federations to lead them into FIFA World Cup campaigns as head coach and also to drive the national development of the sport. White signed with The Bahamas Football Association in September 1999, which sparked a very fruitful relationship between the two parties on the FIFA world stage and nationally. The National teams huge rise of 55 places up the FIFA World Rankings which brought both White and the federation International acclaim would be seen as one of the most noteworthy achievements during White's tenure.

Gary White is currently the Technical Director for Washington Youth Soccer and has held the position since October 2009. He now leads the daily technical operations and technical coaching staff of all Washington Youth Soccer's/Sounders FC player development and coaching education initiatives that services over 135,000,00 registed players and 25,000,00 coaches. He will also oversee the implementation of a technical strategic change plan in all existing and new programs.

Also The Bahamas have a very solid infrastructure and reputation of producing quality youth players and coaches. The Bahamas development under Gary White as technical director and head coach (1999–2007) witnessed a huge improvement; the national team progressed to become the 12th ranked nation in CONCACAF among such teams as The USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica. The Bahamas were also firmly placed in the top 120 ranked national teams on FIFA's World Rankings at the time White and the federation parted ways.
