. In high school, Palrecha started producing do-it-yourself records and booking concerts at VFW halls, basements of friends houses, and coffee shops. By his late teens, he had his own record company, The First Time Records - named after a lyric from The Smiths

By 2003, Palrecha had expanded his record company to include a second record label, a boutique music promotion firm, and a regular monthly club night in San Francisco, where he was also a regular DJ.
