 on December 8, 1880. He joined the Nazi Party (# 602,663) on August 1931. A year later he joined the Schutzstaffel

Breithaupt was promoted to SS and Waffen Major General on August 15, 1941. He became Police President in Breslau between August 15, 1942–1945. In 1944 he was promoted to SS and Waffen SS Lt. General on April 20. He was head of the SS Main Legal Department from July 29, 1942 to April 28, 1945.
