Prof. RNDr. et PaedDr. František Kahuda (January 1, 1911 – February 12, 1987) was a Czechoslovak physicist
Physicist
A physicist is a scientist who studies or practices physics. Physicists study a wide range of physical phenomena in many branches of physics spanning all length scales: from sub-atomic particles of which all ordinary matter is made to the behavior of the material Universe as a whole...

and educator. Between 1954 and 1963 he worked as a Minister of Education, and in 1967-1985 he was one of the major promoters of psychotronics, within which he founded his own school, called psychoenergetics.

His scientific career began in 1952, when he successfully defended a dissertation thesis on photonics and thus obtained a doctorate in natural science. After a short period at Faculty of Math and Physics at the Charles University in Prague and at Chemical-technological University, he was a chairman of the Czechoslovak Unity of mathematicians and physicists.
Apart from mathematics and physics he studied new possibilities of pedagogy and aspects of learning in the education and upbringing in general. During this work he achieves pieces of knowledge, that he sums up in his work „Dynamics of sociological and pedagogical aspects in the education of youth“. The nonverbal factors considerably participate in the procedure of education and upbringing, which he considered to be so crucial that he began to focus on them in his scientific research. Later on, he comes to a conclusion about certain mental factors that are unknown within the actual natural science and that are related to the so called „mental energy“. His next scientific work was oriented in this direction. He carefully wrote down his achievements and published them in the Magazine of Czech physicians. Later on, his research was connected with a scientific assignment at Chemical-technological University: „mental energy and its use in practice“. While having solved this task he formulated the hypothesis of the so called „fundamental radiation of materials“. The radiation was subjected to the research in his psychoenergetic laboratory.

From 1970 to 1987 he worked as a director of the Psychoenergetic Laboratory

. After his death, the Psychoenergetic Laboratory was led by V. Grešík. The Laboratory finished its activities at the beginning of the 90s. The work of Kahuda´s Laboratory is followed by the Psychoenergetic Society, that has been later renamed (the Czech Psychoenergetic SocietyČEPES). Among the scientists, Kahuda was renowned for his peculiar views, that he promoted even at public schools e. g. his theory of mentions and psychons – small particles of thinking procedure as well as extrasensory (mentionic) communication
Communication
Communication is the activity of conveying meaningful information. Communication requires a sender, a message, and an intended recipient, although the receiver need not be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication; thus communication can occur across vast...
