. The Flevopolder, contrary to what the name suggests, is a unique polder. The eastern part was drained in 1955 and the southern part in 1968.

The dam Knardijk which served to create the Western polder and now separates the two polders has been preserved, if one of the two were to be flooded, the other one wouldn't.
