The college was originally founded by George Cadbury
in 1909 and offers mostly short residential courses, as well as an Access to Higher Education
programme and specialist courses for the over 55s. The college also runs specialist courses for organisations from the voluntary and community sectors.
Fircroft College is located in a former Cadbury family home set in 6 acres (24,281.2 m²) of gardens and woodland. An adjoining teaching centre housing a new library, conference rooms, IT facilities and teaching rooms was opened in 2005.
