Fingerlings were invented by Tyler Campbell in 2008, whilst he was 6 years old. With the help of Campbell's business partner and stepfather, Jason Weber, fingerlings were sold online and at Dadeland Mall
, Miami. In 2010 Weber presented fingerlings in the Elevator Pitch Contest at the The University of Miami’s Launch Pad entrepreneurship center. Campbell won the Grand Prize in the community category.
