Ferry Gouw grew up in Jakarta, then came to London as a young adult to study art at Central St Martins college. He became friends with Tom Vek
, a contemporary at Central St Martins. After graduation he joined the band Balls, a precursor to Test Icicles
, and became part of an English indie scene, for which he has made music videos and graphics for several bands, including Simian Mobile Disco
and Bloc Party
. He has also illustrated club flyers and made cover art for many artists, including Young Turks
. The 2009 Spring/Summer edition of Plastique featured 3 alternative covers, each with an illustration by Ferry on the back. He lives and works in London with his photographer girlfriend and baby kitten.
Ferry's new project, Celestial Bodies, release their debut 7" in March 2010 on Home.Under.Ground Records
