Following his graduation from the University of Pennsylvania, he worked in the office of Mr. Emile Perrot, an architect in Philadelphia, and then spent two years traveling in Europe, giving particular attention to architectural designs. Returning to Manila he was for four years an assistant architect in the Bureau of Public Works. In 1927 he became associated with architect Tomas Arguelles and established Arguelles and Ocampo, architects.
