Freydoun Kadjar was born at the Golestan Palace

, Tehran. He was educated at the University of Geneva

, in Switzerland, and was appointed as Heir Apparent with the title of Vali Ahad by his father in his will. He declared himself Head of the Imperial House of Persia after the death of his father, on 27 February 1930.

He died in a motor crash, at Geneva, having had issue, one son and two daughters (not in the line of succession).
