 nationalist opinion in his country. He founded and edited the magazine Új Idők ("New Times") in 1895. In 1896 he was elected to parliament and in 1901 became the president of the Petőfi Society.
In the early '50-s he was deported from Budapest to the Hungarian GULAG and released in 1953 - after Stalin's death, when the labor camps were liquideted. He died soon, in the next year.
