 and more than 17 foreign countries this year. Many of the students their are very excelled in their learning. Fay has recently opened the Primary School ( Pre-K to 2nd) and hopes to add more. It will be moving 6th grade down to their Lower School program (3rd to 5th) next year.

Fay School dates to 1860s when sisters Eliza Burnett Fay and Harriet Burnett Fay started a day school for young boys, and was officially founded in 1866 with two boarders and five day students. Its original purpose was to provide preparatory education for boys who wished to enter the nearby St. Mark's School

Construction of school buildings began in the mid-1880s, and its campus was gradually assembled from purchases of land and houses, as well as continued construction. By 1923 the school was educating 93 boarders and three day students. It became co-education in 1972 with the admission of 12 girls as day students, and grew to 278 students by 1978. In 2008 the school began a period of extensive construction and expansion.
