) but eventually those were cancelled. From 1997 till 2004 the late evening version was produced (airing usually around 23:00) and from 2000 till 2007 there was also the afternoon edition (airing around 17:00). Since 2007 the main edition broadcast from Warsaw (with presenters travelling during exceptional events) has been the only one being aired.

in which when asked if he was interested in running for the President of Poland, he failed to give a clear "no"). He was replaced as main presenter by Bogdan Rymanowski. In the same year the programme's team was merged into TVN24, network's 24-hour news channel and the two started to share the newsroom and main studio. Fakty did retain some level of autonomy though, keeping its own staff headed by a separate Editor-in-Chief. Since Autumn 2004, the programme has had two main presenters, each of them fronting the weekday editions every second week. For the first 20 months since the change those were Justyna Pochanke and Bogdan Rymanowski. In May 2006 former Wiadomości star presenter Kamil Durczok

took over as one of the main presenters (replacing Rymanowski who fronted his last edition two months earlier) and was also nominated Fakty's Editor-in-Chief.

In May 2008 the weekday editions were expanded by adding Fakty po Faktach (Facts after the Facts) section, which is aired only on TVN24 (thus available only via cable and satellite networks, with no terrestrial transmission) and allows to get into more detail with the day's main stories by adding longer interviews and analysis. In the first weeks both sections were presented by the same person. Later this has been changed and now there is different host for each of the two parts. For the viewers who decide to stay with TVN after the programme instead of switching to TVN24, the programme is followed by weather and sport segments (both with their separate presenters). The entire block (including commercials between the segments) lasts for about 45 minutes.

Opening

Each edition begins with a shot from a camera installed outside the TVN's central Warsaw studio (at Marszałkowska Street) showing Palace of Culture and Science, city's most famous landmark. (This is not the studio of the program - it actually comes from the main newsroom in TVN's headquarters in the district of Mokotów

in south Warsaw). A clock is also displayed on the screen and when it reaches 19:00:00 sharp, the opening sequence begins. After the initial animation with the programme's title, presenter appears standing in front of a video wall

and briefly announces the top stories. When this is finished, a shot from a camera "flying" over the studio is displayed, with the camera getting closer and closer to the presenter who at that point already sits next to his table. After it stops, he/she welcomes the viewers, introduces his/herself and begins the programme.

During weekend editions which have two presenters, it's the male presenter who usually welcomes viewers at the videowall while his female colleague is already waiting next to the table. Unlike rival Wiadomości, at the most occasions (with some exceptions occurring) Faktys presenter(s) is (are) seated while reading the news.

Main presenters

The main presenters front the programme individually from Monday to Thursday, occasionally also on Fridays. Usually they hold a week-long shifts, which effectively makes each of them present 4 or 5 editions out of every 14 broadcasts in a two-week period. When one of them hosts the main section, the other one usually follows with Fakty po faktach (see above). As of July 2009, the main presenters are:

     (serving also as programme's Editor-in-Chief)
  • Justyna Pochanke

Weekend and relief presenters

On Fridays the programme is usually hosted individually by one of the male weekend presenters. Saturday and Sundays editions are presented by male-female couples (each of them working on every second weekend). The weekend presenters also serve as relief to the main presenters both in the weekday main section and in the follow-up show Fakty po faktach. Apart from their work at Fakty, they also have presenting duties at the news channel TVN24. Current weekend presenters are:
