Although FK Senica played in the 4th Slovak football league for season 2008/2009, the next season 2009/2010 they played in the top division after mergin with Inter Bratislava who had just won promotion to the Corgoň Liga. Initially the club was forced to retain the name Inter Bratislava in the top division but after many discussions the Executive Committee of the Slovak Football Association
