for the next year. In the first season in Virslīga Jūrmala finished fifth. However, despite serious ambitions from the team management and signing several former Latvia national football team
players in the following seasons FK Jūrmala couldn't step up to the next level and in 2007 the team suffered a financial crisis when some of its top players left the team in mid season.
