The club played its first match on December 12, 1947. For the first few years there were competing in the Republic Leagues, though they were folded in 1951. The club menaged to compete at national level in the disputed Yugoslav Second League
. In 1968-69 the club reached the third place of the Zone South of the Second League. Afterwords the club will be relegated into lower leagues. With the establishment of the BiH League, FK Bosna competed in the second division from the start. It currently stays there, playing in the Second League of BiH Federation. Some of the best and most notable players that played for the club were and worth mentioning were Želimir Vidović, Said Fazlagić
