 - Chathanad road (9 km) passes through this village. Ezhikkara is situated near to Cochin city, but is separated by lagoons and islands.At present there is a ferry service between Chathanad and Kadamakkudy, as well as a boat service to Ernakulam.

Geography

Ezhikkara is surrounded by lagoons. Fishing and rice farming are the main source of income for the people. Ezhikkara is famous for its Pokkali rice cultivations and Fresh water prawn farms in Ernakulam District. The neighboring areas of the panchayat are Veeran Puzha part of NW-3 (Kollam-Kottapuram);Vypin Island in west, Kottuvally Panchayat in east, Kadamakkudy Panchayat in South and North Paravur Municipality in north.
