Their debut album, Rightside UP, was released in 2000. Their following album, Unleashed, which had a much heavier and more aggressive sound, debuted in May 2004, and made Top 40 in German charts.

In April 2005, band member Andrea Ge left left the band and Ale took his place as drummer.

The band's biggest hit has been Can't Break me Down, from their CD single of the same name, released in 2005. In 2006, Exilia recorded and released another full-length CD, Nobody Excluded. This album's sound is heavier than that of Unleashed, and has a slightly more industrial sound to it, which is evident in tracks such as "In A Coma". Later in 2006, after releasing the video for Kill Me, the first single of Nobody Excluded, Exilia released a CD single and music video for Your Rain. The CD single contains three otherwise-unreleased tracks.

In early 2007, after vocalist Masha recovered from her broken leg, Exilia resumed their tour. Also in early 2007, bassist Random left the band and was replaced by "Mata".
