Overview

The show focused on the romantic and personal lives of the main characters, often using legal proceedings as plot devices to contrast or reinforce a character's drama. Legal arguments were also frequently used to explore multiple sides of various social issues. Hardenberg & Hardenberg, the fictional law firm, where most of the characters work, is depicted as a place where everything can happen. Lawyers and secretaries in the firm routinely find very creative solutions
to investigate and finally solve criminal cases. The pretty trainee lawyer Eva Sander gets the attention of Alexander Hardenberg junior, the son of the boss Dr. Hardenberg senior. Her ambitious counterpart is the colored Sue Young. The secretary Audette Mende, smart-alec and philantropic, tries to fight for justice in and outside the office and knows every secret about the company and the employees. While Eva is supported by her grandfather Hubertus Sander and her close friend Rosl, Sue is a single independent woman on her own.
