. It was originally created in 1935 following the merger of two local branch libraries. In 1995 the library was expanded to a 48000 sq ft (4,459.3 m²) complex. Since its 1995 expansion the library has consistenly ranked highly on the Hennen's American Public Library Ratings (HAPLR) Index and is currently ranked number four in the 50,000 population category.
