Career

Éric Saul began motorcycle competition in 1973.

This year he tried at the "coupe des 4 saisons" challenge for the last round which took place in Magny Cours on a Yamaha 125 AS3 without any tuning and finish 15th, it make him want to continue.

En 1974 he started with the "coupe des 4 saisons" challenge and he won both rounds in 125cc on a Yamaha AS3 and in 500cc class on Kawasaki although it's the first time on the Croix-en-Thernois circuit, it was on 9 June 1974. in 125cc class he won in despite of the engine status, single surprising point during technical control was the numerous exhaust scale found in cylinders during opening. this same year he is engaged in the Kawasaki" cup challenge and finish 11th on general results.

After his racing career ended, Saul created the International Classic Grand Prix organisation promoting meetings of classic Grand Prix bikes and racers from the 1970s and 1980s.
