The Entrepreneurial Management Center (EMC) within San Diego State University College of Business Administration
was founded in 1986 and named “Nasdaq Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence” in 2000. The EMC provides academic, business, and social entrepreneurial communities with the resources, tools, and skills necessary for business creation, growth and sustainability.
The EMC supports San Diego State University (SDSU)
graduate program in entrepreneurship and acts as a physical “hub” on campus as well as a virtual "web" community that allows entrepreneurs, investors and service providers to partner with one another and provide resources for startup companies.
, the Venture Challenge Business Plan Competition, and an MBA/MSBA entrepreneur internship program. In addition, the EMC sends student teams to compete in international business plan competitions, including Moot Corp. and VCIC.

business community include the Emerging Growth Workshop and the Business Forum which support early stage and growing company CEO’s as well as the Center for the Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT), stated to be a "partnership program designed to accelerate the development and application of advanced technologies to solve real-world problems."
