Its subsidiary, Monticello Raceway Management, Inc., owns and operates the Monticello Casino & Raceway in Monticello, New York. - 1958: Monticello Raceway began operations on its lightning-fast half-mile track June 27, 1958.
- 2001: New York State passes legislation allowing race tracks to host electronic slot machines.
- 2003: The company joins Nasdaq via a reverse merger under the Empire Resorts, Inc. name and ticker symbol "NYNY."
- 2004: The company receives regulatory approval to open a casino at the Monticello Raceway site. A $34 million renovation is completed in six months, and the new Monticello Casino & Raceway is opened on June 30.
