The Electoral district of Kew is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly
. It lies a few kilometres east of Melbourne and is centred around the suburb of Kew
and also contains parts of Balwyn
and Canterbury
.
The seat was created in 1927 and has been a safe seat for the Liberal Party
and its predecessors. It has been the seat for prominent Liberals such as former Deputy Premiers Wilfrid Kent Hughes
and Arthur Rylah
while the most notable former member is Rupert Hamer
who was Premier of Victoria from 1972 until 1981.
