with around 4,000 inhabitants, just west of Oslo
. It is served by Eiksmarka station

It is an affluent area in the most expensive part of Bærum, north of the borough of Jar. Eiksmarka is known for good golfing and tennis and for being a safe and pleasant environment for families.
The only gallop racecourse in Norway, Øvrevoll Galloppbane, is located between Eiksmarka and the neighbouring borough of Jar.
To the east, Eiksmarka borders Lysakerelven
with the Oslo borough of Røa
on the eastern side of the river.
