Both time, Gonclaves celebrated the milestone by notching a hat-trick, first against SAFFC

in 2004, playing for Home United.
Goncalves quietly returned to Brazil
in January 2007 after failing to agree a new contract with Home United. However, he was spotted by a reporter and this sparked a mini-controversy over the failure of the foreign talent scheme. He played for Desportiva Capixaba
in Espírito Santo
state and then retired. Currently, Egmar Gonçalves lives in Vila Velha
city, Brazil, with his wife and children.
He failed to make any impact for Singapore at international level and was one of the unsuccessful players in the foreign talent scheme endorsed by the Football Association of Singapore
