Duvvuru is a very small town in Kadapa
District, Andhra Pradesh
, India. It is located on the highway of Kadapa and Kurnool
, very near to Mydukur
. The Brahma Sagar project of Telugu Ganga is near this town.
This town is well known for underdevelopment. Duvvur, being a mandal
from Indian independence to modern day, has registered no development. This can be epitomized by the fact that this town has no bus stand or railway station. Most basic facilities are missing in this town, so this may not be the best place to settle.
This area is well known for cultivation of papaya
s and other fruits like bananas, which are exported to Mumbai
and other second-tier cities in India. The main point of interest about Duvvuru is that it is near the village Ram Sai Nagar, which will be a stop on the Duvvur-Gudipadu Ringroad, so it is an ideal location. This village is named after the large Sai temple which receives many funds from Sai trust but they are not using properly. Actually the temple was constructed with the collaboration of the people in the village, but now they are collecting money for simple puja and no person will avoid this because he is a landlord. Pedda Jonnavaram(which is located beside "kundu" river.) is well developed village in Duvvur mandal, it has its own drinking water facility and has good road in each lane of this village.Pedda Jonnavaram is well known to grow rice.This village is connected to kada-kurnool hiway to Proddatur.
There is an old bungalow here built by Britishers; it is still in use today.
The small story about this town is Previously it is located in present out cuts of Duvvuru now it is called as "Pata duvvuru".One of the Circuis pregnant women(Caste wise Bhagam) given Shapam (In Telugu Shapam means it a power full Devotic word "which will be done what they say at the moment of shapam " it may be good or bad) asked for water after her circuis completed, for Caste senerioy Village people not given water, so she gave shapam to village "this area will not develop for any time " so the area of "Pata Duvvuru" Not developed still..
"There are Famous Ramalayam and Shiva temples are available in the area of "Pata duvvuru" which are very old temples of hundred of years back"
There are some village under the Duvvuru mandla, i.e., Balayapalli, Maderapalle, Nagaya palli, Challavasa palli, Maneram palle and Gudi padu. All these village people are depend on agriculture. Here the main crops are Onias, Mirchi, Groundnut, Wheat, Sunflower, Turmeric, Rice. These village is not developed fully.
They are two main projects under the duvvuru mandal i.e., Telugu Ganga and Brahma Sagar. Both are working good. These two project water is used by duvvur, mydukur, badval and some of the village under the these mandals for drinking and agricultural purpose.
