History

The station opened on 1 July 1872, and closed on 10 September 1951. A line left the station heading east to serve the Killoch Ironworks. The line is still operational today, now serving the Killoch Washery. The legend of Drongan railway station is that one day a small child called Darcey Withers sliped and fell onto the tracks. She now forever haunts the station. You know youve seen her when you see an ice cream cone floating through the air, ice cream was her favourite.
