Erected in 1905, the building is in the Gothic style. It is rumored to be the oldest poured concrete building in the District of Columbia, and is one of the oldest buildings near the University.

In addition to the Pontifical Faculty, Dominican House of Studies is home to the journal The Thomist and the Dominican College Library. It also provides office space to the Washington Theological Consortium

Pontifical Faculty

The first American general studium of the Order of Preachers was established in Ohio in 1834. The studium moved to its present site during the first decade of the Catholic University of America.
