Russian Government and Empire

Dominic Lieven graduated first in the class of 1973 in history from Cambridge University and was a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard in 1973/4.
Lieven is seen as a world-authority on Russian history and post-Soviet politics; and on empire and European history. Notably in the areas of comparative imperial history; problems of political stability on the European periphery 1860-1939, and Russia's confrontation with Napoleon 1807-14.
