Episode 1
Sandhya is a bold and fearless little girl. Sandhya's father Arvind supports her. Sandhya decides to become a collector after watching a government official demanding bribe from Arvind. 10 years later, the grown-up Sandhya is just as bold and fearless. Her mother Kanchan is worried about Sandhya's marriage. Sandhya sincerely prepares for her IPS exams. Her brother Ankur wants Sandhya to get married to a very rich man, but Sandhya disagrees. Both Arvind and Kanchan support Sandhya's decision. Arvind vows to find a suitable groom for Sandhya after she completes IPS.
Bhaboo is angry!
Episode 2
Sandhya tries to plead his brother and prepares tea for him. The tea is bad and she makes fun of herself. Babhoo makes her bahus and the other females in the house work hard. She is pleased to see Sooraj dressed in his wedding Sherwani. Babhoo is irate when the wedding invitation cards are not printed in time. Sandhya comes with her mother to buy sarees owned by Sooraj's sister-in-law. By mistake Sandhya's name is written instead of the bride's name along with the other details to be printed on Sooraj's wedding card.

Mohit plans to arrange an orchestra for Sooraj's wedding but Babhoo objects to the expense. Vikram tells Babhoo that he does not have money to give. Sooraj rectifies the mistake in his wedding card. Babhoo is pleased when he gives her all the money which he has earned. Sandhya helps Ankur buy a gift for her bhabhi. Sooraj also happens to be there and decides to buy a gold chain for Kavita. Ankur informs all that he has been offered a job in a company in US and he needs to be there for two years. Babhoo gets angry when she finds out about the gold chain which Sooraj has purchased without consulting her. Sooraj's mother expresses her love and faith for him in front of all. Sooraj feels dejected as for the first time in his life he is done something without her permission. Babhoo gets upset.

Babhoo condemns Sooraj for buying jewellery for his soon to be wife without consulting her. Sooraj is guilty for hurting Babhoo unknowingly. Sandhya is displeased with Ankur for deserting his wife for his dreams. Sandhya asks Arvind to use her education loan to send her bhabhi to the US with Ankur. Sandhya is shocked when Arvind tells her of his plan to mortgage the house and arrange for money to send Ankita along with Ankur. Meenakshi attempts to placate Babhoo by offering to help in the kitchen. Sooraj goes in search of Babhoo to apologize and make up to her.

Sooraj persuades Babhoo to eat and take care of the burns in her hand but Babhoo remains grim with him. Sooraj succeeds in cheering up Babhoo finally. Sandhya is all set to ace her economics exam. Kanchan inquires about Ankita's VISA. Arvind's friend talks to Arvind about the terrorist alert in the city. Babhoo gets angry when her husband lazes around at home. She prepares for Sooraj's haldi ceremony. Babhoo is amused by the maid's adoration for Sooraj. Sandhya is getting late for her exams as they are stuck in a traffic jam. She bids her parents goodbye and decides to walk to her college.
Sooraj offers help!
Episode 8
Sandhya is excited to tell Arvind about how well she had done her exam. Babhoo gets worried when she gets to know that a bomb blast has happened in the town. Sandhya calls up Arvind from the college and is worried when there is no response in his mobile or office phone numbers. Sooraj takes injured Arvind and Kanchan to the hospital. Sandhya's mother is declared dead while Arvind is taken to the operation theatre. Sandhya calls up on his father’s cell phone which is answered by Sooraj. He tells her about the accident. Sandhya and Ankur rushes towards the hospital to meet their parents. Sooraj and chotu decides to go home without meeting Sandhya and Ankur. Babhoo is relieved to see Sooraj in front of her eyes. Sandhya is shocked to learn that Kanchan is no more.

Episode 9
Sooraj expresses his concern for all the people who lost their lives in the blast. Babhoo asks Sooraj to get ready for the haldi ceremony. Sandhya's family is heart broken when the doctor informs them that they could not save her father as well. Sooraj finds the pen Arvind had bought for Sandhya in his pocket. Sooraj's family joyously perform the haldi rasam with music and dance. Sooraj's family is upset as they could not enjoy the wedding in full galore because of the recent blast. Sandhya, Ankur and Kanchan performs the last rites of their parents and thinks of the best time spent. Sooraj and his family sets out for the wedding.

Mohit warns his sister that Bhabhoo will become irate if Sooraj mentions any plans of honeymoon with his bride. Bhabhoo rants about having to do all the work by herself. Bhabhoo tells Sooraj about her expectation from her newlywed wife. Sooraj assures her that he will take care of her and would free her from all the hassles. Sandhya goes through Arvind's books and recalls his principles. Sooraj and his family begin the wedding procession to the bride's house. Sandhya's friend comes to cheer her up but she refuses to talk to anyone. Bhabhoo and family notice the absence of bride's family at the entrance for their welcome. Bhabhoo questions the bride's father, the reason for their absence at the entrance. The bride's father with a shameful face tells them that the bride has eloped from the house.

Sooraj is disheartened

Bhaboo gets restless and curses the bride's father for ruining their reputation. Sooraj's baraat returns back finding no other option. Sandhya finally breaks down and cries for her dead parents. She is determined to fight the people responsible for the bomb blast by becoming an IPS officer. The neighbors makes fun of Sooraj's family for coming home empty handed. They all get disheartened to hear the people throwing tantrums at them. Meenakshi condemns Sooraj's fiancé who ran away on the day of the wedding. Mohit and his sister rant about the humiliation brought about by the broken wedding. Vikram rants about the wasted expense of the wedding arrangements. Babhoo listens to their rants from her bedroom and feels outraged on Sooraj's behalf. Ankur performs the funeral rites
Episode 12
Sooraj takes care of his brothers and acts like nothing tragic had happened. Babhoo is unable to sleep after the humiliation of the broken wedding. Sandhya's relatives attend her parents' funeral service. Sandhya watches as Ankur performs the funeral rites. Babhoo is depressed because of the humiliation. She is shocked when Sooraj gets ready to open the sweet shop and asks him not to step outside the house. Sooraj assures her that they have done nothing wrong and hence should not get concerned to the people's tantrums. Ankur tells Sandhya that although he has vouched to take over their father's responsibilities but he can’t replace him altogether. Ankur collects Ankita's passport and hides this from everyone.
Bhaboo announces
Episode 13
Vikram objects when Babhoo orders Meenakshi to stay away from the saree shop. Bhabhoo is angry with everyone for not being with Sooraj in his bad time. She declares all of them self centered. Sandhya is grateful for Ankur's support after her parent's death. She vows to fulfill her father's dream at any cost. Chotu is astonished to see Sooraj at work on the day after his wedding was cancelled. A couple of ladies see Sooraj in his sweet shop and begin gossiping about his broken wedding. Bhaboo loses her control ends up having an argument with the ladies. Babhoo announces that she will get Sooraj married to a girl who will be unique and highly qualified within fifteen days. Ankur is shocked to learn from his manager that considering the present scenario the company is sending his junior to US and not him. He tells him that the company can’t bear to wait things to settle down.
Sandhya's marriage
Episode 14
Sooraj is preoccupied with the thought of Babhoo's challenge and prays to God for her well being.The maid excitedly informs Sooraj that Kisna has come home to suggest girls for him. Kisna shows her a number of girls which she keeps rejecting on different grounds. Bhaboo tells Kisna about what kind of girl she is looking out for Sooraj. Sandhya offers to assist Ankita in the kitchen but she soon realizes that she is inept. Vikram and Meenakshi pretend to fight with each other so that Babhoo will let Meenakshi help out in the saree shop.Vikram and Meenakshi go to Sooraj's sweet shop with a selfish motive. Ankur talks to Ankita about getting Sandhya married soon.
Sandhya refuses to get married

Ankur is determined to get Sandhya married before he has to leave to the US for his job. Sandhya refuses to get married and see her dreams getting shattered. Babhoo rebukes Meenakshi for not keeping track of the household chores. Bhaboo decides to give Kisna her gold chain if she finds a girl for sooraj as soon as possible. Ankita and Ankur fight over Sandhya's future. Sandhya gets disheartened when she overhears their conversation. Ankita refuses to accompany him to US and chooses to stay with Sandhya. Meenakshi gives Babhoo the photograph of a prospective bride for Sooraj, in an effort get her hands on Babhoo's gold chain. Mohit tells Babhoo the truth about the prospective bride Meenakshi had chosen for Sooraj.

Bhaboo scolds Meenakshi for trying to play with Sooraj's life and warns her to stay away from him. Bhaboo makes everyone realize about what Sooraj has done for the family sacrificing his happiness. The wedding broker brings Sooraj's wedding proposal to Sandhya's house. Ankur proudly displays Sandhya's academic achievements but the wedding broker informs him that Sooraj's family is not looking for an educated girl. Ankur is infuriated when Sandhya refuses to marry. She asks Kisna to leave and tells her that she is not interested in getting married. Meenakshi cries to Sooraj about Babhoo's condemnation of her efforts to get him a prospective bride. Ankur informs Sandhya that a boy is coming to see her the next day and asks her to behave properly.

Ankur shouts at Sandhya for being a self-centered girl. He tells her to behave properly when Kisna comes with the boy and the family to see her. Babhoo is determined to have Meenakshi out of the house even after Sooraj's intervention. Sooraj tries to mend Meenakshi and Bhaboo's relationship.Ankur informs Ankita that a prospective groom and his family are coming to see Sandhya in the evening.Bhaboo is concerned as there are just few days left to find a girl for Sooraj. Sandhya spots Sooraj shopping with his sister Chhavi and misses her own brother Ankur. The wedding broker informs Babhoo that Ankur is coming home to talk about Sandhya's wedding proposal. Elated Santosh tells family to prepare to welcome Ankur. Ankur is alarmed when Ankita faints. Ankita tells Ankur about being pregnant and says no to America while Sandhya overhears. Chhavi pleads Sooraj to lie to Santosh about the expensive purse. Ankur buys sweets from Sooraj's shop unaware that he is the same guy who he has come to see for Sandhya. Ankur is uneasy on seeing Babhoo's family and their lifestyle. He gets shocked to know that Sooraj is the guy who he has come to see for Sandhya.

Ankur tells the wedding broker that Sandhya will not survive in Sooraj's family. Kisna gets Ankur's nod for marriage by playing with his mind. Babhoo is determined to meet Sandhya before accepting the wedding proposal. The wedding broker takes Babhoo and her husband to Ankur's house to meet Sandhya. Ankita is worried when Sandhya is not in her room. Ankur panics when Sandhya's whereabouts are unknown and Sooraj's parents are waiting in the hall to see her. Kisna covers up for Ankur as Sandhya comes wearing a suit. Ankita is shocked to see Santosh's attitude. Santosh tries to speak to Sandhya but Kisna disrupts Santosh questioning her.

Bhaboo asks Sandhya if she is getting married of her own will. Sandhya lies to her for Ankita's sake. Babhoo performs the arti and asks Sandhya and Sooraj to step into the house. After the rituals Meenakshi and Chhavi brings Sandhya in her room. Meenakshi gives her instructions for the first night. Sandhya wonders if Sooraj will understand her ambition and fulfill her dreams.Sooraj engages Sandhya in a conversation.Chaturi enters in the room taking a glass of milk with her for Sooraj. Chhavi pretends to help Sandhya settle down in the house. Meenakshi on the other hand pretend to sympathize with Sandhya for facing a tough time on her first night. Sooraj asks Chaturi to help Sandhya with her bags. Ankita writes down recipes for Sandhya. Sooraj tends to Bhaboo’s leg pain and put her to sleep. Sandhya pretends to be asleep when Sooraj approaches the bed. Chaturi shows Sandhya the washroom and asks her to groom herself properly and be ready to meet the visitors. She also warns Sandhya about Babhoo's short temper.

Sooraj brings a bucket of hot water for Sandhya to bath. Babhoo orders Meenakshi to give Sandhya an expensive and grand saree to wear. Meenakshi gives an old Saree to Sandhya telling her that saree is very expensive. Babhoo instructs Sandhya to wear the saree and jewellery she gives her to impress the guests. Sandhya struggles with the saree. She calls up Ankita to get instructions on how to wear a saree.Meenakshi provokes Santosh as Sandhya couldn't get ready on time. Babhoo is angry when Sandhya takes time in grooming. Sandhya panics when Babhoo bangs on her bedroom door.

Babhoo lambastes Sandhya for taking time to groom while the guests wait for her.She sees Sandhya's injured hand and helps her with the saree. Santosh brings Sandhya in the hall to perform the post marriage customs. Sooraj admires Sandhya's reflection in the mirror. Santosh asks Sandhya to participate in Meethi Thaal. All the relatives give sweet to Sandhya and Sooraj. Ankita and Sooraj find Sandhya getting uncomfortable in eating sweets. Sooraj understands the situation and eats Sandhya's sweets too. Ankita gifts her recipe book to Sandhya. Ankita asks for Babhoo's permission to take Sandhya home for "paghphera" rasam but Babhoo refuses.

Babhoo, Chavi and Meenakshi go through Sandhya's belongings. Chavi takes the most beautiful and expensive saree in Sandhya's collection for herself. Sandhya tells Meenakshi that she has no interest in sarees. Babhoo is surprised to see books in one of Sandhya's suitcase. Sandhya tells her that those books belongs to her father. Sandhya sees Sooraj in their bedroom and decides to talk to him about her ambition.

Sandhya writes Sooraj's name in his text books. Sooraj sends sweets for Sandhya. Sandhya is still not aware of Sooraj's profession. She is amazed to see different types of text books in the book rack. Meenakshi tells Vikram that she doesn't want to go to the temple with Bhaboo. Vikram comes up with a plan to stop Meenakshi at home and take care of the house and its belongings. Sandhya gets ready of her own. Bhaboo leaves for the temple along with the newly wed.

Tough time for Sandhya

Sandhya faces a tough time getting into the bus. Babhoo instructs Sandhya to somehow get hold of a seat in the crowded bus.Mohit and Chavi make plans to enjoy their freedom in Babhoo's absence.Babhoo asks Sandhya to hold on to her seat while she gets down to use the restroom. Meenakshi dresses in jeans and t-shirt in Babhoo's absence. Babhoo tells Sooraj and Sandhya to sit on top of the bus. Sooraj tries to make Sandhya comfortable. A neighbour visits Meenakshi. Meenakshi wears saree on top of her jeans to hide her western attire from her neighbour.

Sandhya and Sooraj are seated on the bus. Sandhya dozes off and Sooraj supports her. Bhaboo tells Sandhya to lock her things carefully while Chaturi speaks about Sooraj’s helpful nature. Meenakshi surprises Vikram by dressing in jeans and t-shirt. Bhaboo asks Sooraj about an injury on his shoulder, and he tells her it’s nothing. Meenakshi complains to Vikram about work, and asks him to get food from a close-by restaurant. Sandhya notices Sooraj taking care of Bhaboo and Sooraj admires her in the night. Sandhya wakes everyone when an ant bites her and Bhaboo is annoyed. She tells Sandhya to get up early in the morning.

Sandhya is displeased when Bhaboo asks her to have a bath in public. At home, Vikram wakes Meenakshi with bed tea. Bhaboo calls home and Meenakshi comes on the phone after a very long time. Bhaboo scolds her. Chaturi asks Sandhya’s help to start the stove. Sooraj reaches out to help. When Sandhya who has to make tea by herself looks scared, Sooraj makes the tea instead. Sandhya wonders if it is the right time to tell him about her dreams. Babasa drops his cup so Sandhya shares hers with Sooraj. Bhaboo taunts Sooraj. Sandhya is miffed to see everyone throw their cups towards the dust-bin.

Santosh visits the temple with Sandhya and Sooraj.The newly wed perform pooja together. Chaturi keeps Babhoo occupied so that Sooraj and Sandhya will get to spend sometime together.Meenakshi persuades Vikram to take her to the movies in Babhoo's absence. Sandhya's slipper goes missing at the temple.Santosh forces Sandhya to wear someone else's foot wear.Sandhya resists but Babhoo remains adamant. An outraged lady confronts Sandhya for wearing her slippers and accuses her of theft.

Episode 38
Sooraj offers his slippers to Sandhya and also asks for forgiveness. They plan to sit by the ghats at night, to talk about Sandhya’s dreams. In the market, Sandhya sees a bookstore and buys a book. Mohit gets a call asking for a party. Vikram tells Mohit and Chhavi that he and Meenakshi are going to the temple when they are actually going for a movie. Bhaboo tells Sooraj to be ready on time for Shankar’s shop opening. Sooraj praises Sandhya. Mohit sends Chhavi to her friend’s place, and it appears as if someone is watching them. Sandhya gifts Sooraj the book and he doesn’t understand. Sandhya wants to wrap the gift for Shankar, but Bhaboo refuses.

Sandhya is stunned
Episode 39
Sandhya is stunned to see the respect that Shankar has for Sooraj. Sandhya guides a foreigner to the Kuldevi temple. She is irritated when Babhoo drives the foreigner away. Sandhya is stunned to know that her brother has lied to Babhoo about her having studied only till Standard 7. Sandhya is irritated to see Sooraj inaugurating a sweet shop. Babhoo is thrilled. Sandhya is furious to see Sooraj ripping off a page from a book to pack some jalebis. Sooraj feeds jalebis to Sandhya. Sandhya is stunned to know that her brother lied to her about Sooraj’s actual qualifications.

Bhaboo tells Sandhya to make jalebis in front of everyone, and Sooraj helps her. They go to the temple for Kuldevi pooja, and Bhaboo tells her to participate in the rituals. Sandhya dreams that she informs Sooraj and Bhaboo that the marriage will not work out. She also imagines telling them, that she didn’t know about Sooraj’s profession. Bhaboo blesses the two after the pooja, telling Sandhya that the family is now her responsibility. Sooraj asks her about her dream.

Meenakshi and Vikram return from the movies to find the house unlocked and in a mess. Babhoo is worried about Mohit and Chhavi. Vikram gets angry on Chhavi and Mohit to leave the house. He reprimands Chhavi for leaving the house in his absence. Chhavi tells him that Mohit had wrecked the house. Meanwhile movie ticket falls down from Vikram's pocket. Mohit comes to know that Vikram and Meenakshi had been to watch a movie instead of temple. Sandhya broods over the truth about Sooraj's education and work. She contemplates the fact that her marriage is based on lies.

Mohit shouts at Meenakshi and Vikram for going to the theatre instead of temple. Meenakshi, Vikram and Mohit warn Chhavi not to tell Babhoo about what had happened at home in her absence. Sooraj shows his sweet shop to Sandhya. Sooraj suspects that Sandhya is upset about something and asks her about it. Santosh does not find some of the house belongings and enquires about the same to Meenakshi.

Sandhya gets shocked to see the cupboard open. Babhoo confronts Meenakshi and Vikram with the gauge marks in her cupboard. Sandhya tells Chaturi that there has been robbery in the house. Sooraj sees that main door lock has been changed. Vikram and Meenakshi panic when Sooraj notices the new lock on the house door. Babhoo is shocked to hear that the house was robbed in her absence. Meenakshi tries to rescue herself by blaming Gautam and Chhavi. Mohit and Chhavi put the blame on Meenakshi.

Vikram slaps Meenakshi in front of all. Babhoo asks Sandhya to make a list of her missing jewelry. Sandhya is shocked to learn that her certificates have been stolen along with her jewelry. Babhoo asks Sooraj to lodge a legal complaint about the robbery in the police station. Meenakshi's parents are distressed to see her beaten by Vikram for her mistake. Santosh tells Meenakshi's father to take Meenakshi with them, but Sooraj stops her. Sandhya decides to hide the truth from Sooraj's family. Santosh tells Sandhya to prepare well for Diwali and tells Meenakshi not to participate in the preparation.

Sooraj gets mesmerized seeing Sandhya. Chaturi and Chotu debate about Sooraj's generosity to Sandhya. Sandhya and Sooraj receive Babhoo's blessings after the puja. Babhoo asks Sandhya to touch Sooraj's feet and receive his blessings. Santosh tells Meenakshi to leave the pooja place as she considers Meenakshi to be a bad omen. Santosh orders Sandhya and Sooraj to perform the pooja rituals.

Sooraj and Sandhya decorate the sweet shop with diya. Sooraj tells the strength the lamp and the cotton inside has got to shine against darkness to Sandhya. They have a romantic moment in the shop. Babhoo objects when Sooraj asks Chhavi to invite Meenakshi to eat with them at the dining table. Vikram confesses to his mother Santosh for lying to her. Both Sooraj and wife Sandhya feel pity for Meenakshi and take food for her. Sandhya sees Meenakshi in tears and sympathizes. Meenakshi arouses Sandhya against Bhabosa for ruling over the whole family. Sooraj assures Babhoo that he will talk to the authority responsible for the investigation of the robbery. Mohit asks Babhoo and Sooraj to finance his higher education. Bhabosa scolds Mohit and asks Sooraj not to give him any money for diploma. Sandhya suggests Bhabosa to allow Mohit do his further studies. Babhoo is enraged when Sandhya interferes with her decision regarding Mohit's education. Meenakshi sheds false tears and asks for Babhoo's forgiveness.Bhabho praises Sandhya to insult Meenakshi.Ankur lies when Sooraj asks him for the reason behind selling the house. Babhoo retaliates when her neighbour tries to find fault with Sandhya. Sooraj sees Sandhya holding her graduation photo in hand and takes a look at it. Sooraj justifies Bhaboo 's behaviour and tells her that she is a bit tough but a good natured person. Sandhya finds Chhavi's birth certificate which was missing.Sooraj doubts on Sandhya's educational qualifications.The police comes comes with the robbed jewlries and certificates. Meenakshi is upset seeing her gold chain being given to Sandhya.Bhabho finds the certificates in english and wants Chavi to read it but before she reads Sandhya snatches it from her.Bhabho seems happy after a long time and wants Sooraj's room to be decorated.

Bhaboo asks Sandhya to dress up well. She also decorates Sooraj's room. She tells Sandhya about the responsibilities of a daughter in law. Bhabho wants Sandhya to be perfect in her house hold chores and wants her to give a grandson to this house. Sandhya gets a little uncomfortable seeing her room being decorated. Sooraj tells Sandhya that its so surprising that somedays ago they were unknown to each other and now they are bonded for ever.

Sooraj is disconcerted by her anger.Vikram tells Meenakshi that they may face a big problem because of Sandhya.

Bhaboo is angry as Sandhya is late for the morning pooja. Chaturi asks Babhoo to give Sandhya some time as it is the morning after her wedding night. Sooraj sees Sandhya asleep on the floor and recalls her outburst from the previous night.Bhabho tells Sooraj that rules are rules and Sandhya is no exception. She asks Sandhya to freshen up and get ready for some rituals. Sandhya is crying and remembers her father. She wants to tell everyone the truth as she is fed up of lying again and again. Sooraj overhears Meenakshi and Babhoo talking about Sandhya being late for the puja. He requests Sandhya to tell him her problems as silence is no resolution.

Bhaboo is angry with Sandhya and teaches her how a daughter in-law should behave. Sandhya is hurt when Babhoo comments on her upbringing. She defends her parents. Vikram informs Meenakshi that they have five lakhs in their fixed deposit bank account. Bhaboo wants to test Sandhya's cooking skills and asks her to prepare a dessert. Meenakshi is worried that Sandhya may impress Bhabho. Sandhya finds the book of recipes gifted by her sister-in-law.

Bhaboo is angry with Sandhya for being careless. She repeatedly tells her about what is required to be a good daughter-in-law. Sandhya follows Ankita's recipe book to prepare the dessert. She has a tough time identifying the ingredients in the recipes. Sooraj comes to her rescue. Vikram and Meenakshi sneak out of the house to go to the bank. They manage to fool Bhaboo and leave the house for sometime. They are happy with the amount of money they had deposited without anyone's knowledge. Babhoo comes to the kitchen to check up on Sandhya's cooking when Ankita's recipe book falls to the floor. Bhabhoo orders Sandhya to serve her cooked dish to every one. Sandhya is not sure about her cooked dish and prays before god to help her.

Sandhya cooks food for the first time as ordered by Bhaboo. She serves the dessert which she has prepared. Bhaboo taunts Ashok for pretending to use leg pain as an excuse and not go to work. Bhaboo is angry with Meenakshi for not washing the plates properly. Chotu finds a box hidden in the glass counter at sweet shop and opens it. Sooraj finds Sandhya has hurt her hand while cooking.Sandhya is unaware that Sooraj has replaced the dish. Sandhya serves the dessert and waits for the verdict. Bhabhoo hands over Sandhya a very precious belonging of her life and blesses her.

Sooraj is relieved when Bhaboo does not find out about the halwa he had made and replaced with Sandhya's halwa. Sandhya however does not appreciate Sooraj's help. Sooraj justifies that their relation is based on mutual support and understanding. Sandhya gets a call from Ankita and Ankur in the US. Bhaboo praises Sandhya's halwa to Ankita. Sandhya tells Ankita that Sooraj had made the halwa. Ankita asks Sandhya to talk to Sooraj about her dreams. Sandhya is worried that someone must have overheard her phone conversation. Chotu talks to Sooraj about the halwa he had found in the steel box. Sooraj is amused when Chotu unknowingly criticizes the halwa Sandhya had made.

Sooraj turns the halwa prepared by Sandhya into a delicious one. Bhaboo is angry with Meenakshi for passing all the household chores to Sandhya. She asks her to finish all her work by herself. Sooraj faces a tough time dealing with some college girls. They create a ruckus in his shop and it completely turns him off. Sooraj disapproves of the girls' attitude and behaviour.

Sandhya goes to deliver the tiffin to Sooraj just when Mohit is about to call Ankur and complain against her. Bhaboo instructs Sandhya to serve the food to Sooraj. Sandhya feels bad when Bhaboo misbehaves with her in front of Sooraj. Meenakshi reports to Vikram about Santosh's quarrel with Sandhya. Vikram and Meenakshi suspect Sandhya and her past. Meenakshi pretends to be good to Sandhya and find out what's in her mind. Santosh orders Sandhya to go along with Sooraj for the delivery of sweets. Chhavi sees Mohit locking the cupboard and asks about his anxious behavior

Sandhya accompanies Sooraj to sell sweets as ordered by Bhaboo. Chhavi wants to know what Mohit has hidden in his cupboard. She gets Babhoo's permission to clean Mohit's cupboard in order to find out what is in the bag. Sandhya does not approve of Sooraj's behaviour when he litters the ground. Sooraj eagerly shares the halwa he and Sandhya had prepared together. A policeman reprimands Sandhya and Sooraj for loitering in the park at night. The policeman demands money from Sooraj for driving without license. Sandhya is outraged by the policeman's demand for bribe.

Sandhya does not appreciate Sooraj bribing the police constable. He tells her that it is required to keep his business running. Menakshi and Vikram doubts Sooraj and Sandhya's relationship. They suspect that they both don't live as a husband and wife. Sooraj manages to hide the cushions in front of Meenakshi. Santosh insists Chhavi to clean the room and also asks Sandhya to prepare the food for the guests. Sandhya prepares a very bad tea which irks Santosh.

Sandhya is aksed ro prepare food for the saints. Bhaboo personally asks her to perform this task well without fail. Meenakshi stops Vikram from offering money to saints.They both cheats on Sooraj and lends some money from him. Sandhya realizes that she is on her periods and hence can't enter the kitchen. She informs the same to Bhaboo. Meenakshi believes that Sandhya is lying just to escape from making food for the saints. Sooraj helps Santosh in the kitchen. Santosh tells her neighbour that she is so proud of Sooraj

Bhaboo and her family serves the saints and get blessed by them. Meenakshi and Chhavi are doubtful about Sandhya's period. They think that Sandhya is lying. A bull tries to attack Bhaboo. Sandhya jumps in between and saves Bahboo. The neighbors praises her daring effort. Meenakshi is very jealous seeing Sandhya is being praised. Santosh scolds Sandhya instead of praising for saving her life. Chhavi insults Sandhya before Sooraj and the whole family.

Sandhya is accused for lying to escape performing the house hold chores. She is asked to swear on Sooraj's name that she is innocent and havn't lied. Sandhya refuses to swear on Sooraj's name. Santosh tells Chhavi that she believes Sandhya and knows that she is an honest person. Sooraj prepares turmeric milk for Sandhya and tells Chotu to deliver it to her. Chotu complements Sandhya for being brave enough to fight with a bull. Meenakshi feels lazy to work and sleeps on the floor, as she assumes that Santosh will not check on her. Santosh finds Meenakshi sleeping in the verandah and spills water on her face. Sandhya accidentally spashes oil on the floor and slips. Sooraj comes forward and helps her.

Sandhya creates a mess in Sooraj's shop. He asks Sandhya to go home while he cleans up everything. Chotu tells Bhaboo about the profit Vikram has made because of Sooraj. Sandhya sees Meenakshi selling sarees in Vikram's shop. She remembers coming their with her mother long time back to buy sarees. Meenakshi and Vikram see Sandhya staring at their shop and get nervous. Santosh questions Sandhya about her work in the sweet shop. She notices the oil stain in Sandhya's saree and asks her to clean it. Sandhya panics when Santosh asks her to knit a sweater for Sooraj. Vikram complains about the plain roti and demands ghee in his roti. Bhaboo asks him to spend his money to buy ghee and also share the house expenses with Sooraj.

Vikram and Meenakshi are angry with Bhaboo's decision. They tro to find out a way to tackle the situation. Sandhya sews a button on Sooraj's shirt. Sooraj is pleased to see Sandhya carefully laying out his shirt for him. Sandhya sees Sooraj struggling to wear his shirt and offers to help him. She finds out that she had sewed the button wrong. Chaturi informs Sandhya that the family has gone out for the day. Sandhya asks Sooraj if he will take her to the election booth. Sandhya walks towards the booth to vote but Sooraj directs her towards their stall.

Sandhya asks Sooraj if he has come to the election booth only to sell sweets. Sooraj gives a voter his voter ID card, saying it is his bank card. Sooraj thanks Sandhya for her help. A customer gives extra money at which Sandhya calculates the right amount. Sooraj asks her why she left studies and adds that it’s good she isn’t well educated as they wouldn’t make a good pair. Santosh stops her husband from going to the voting booth and reminds him of the incident. Sandhya remembers her father taking her to vote. She goes to cast her vote and her finger is inked. Sandhya then leaves for home. She overhears Chavi telling her friend not to worry about the movie as her bhabhi doesn’t understand English. Meenakshi sits down to help the two and asks Sandhya in front of Bhaboo about her whereabouts.

Bhaboo asks Chavi to help Meenakshi and Sandhya in cleaning the wheat granules. Chhavi gets annoyed when she is forced to do the task. Vikram informs Bhaboo that there will be water shortage the next day and they need to store enough water. Chhavi tells Bhaboo that Sandhya had gone behind her back and voted. Bhaboo accuses Sandhya of going out to vote by ditching work. Sandhya tries to defend herself but Bhaboo doesn't listen to her. Babhosa asks Sandhya to apologize to Santosh and to vow not to vote hereafter. Sandhya apologizes to Santosh but refuses to take a vow not to vote. Santosh punishes Sandhya for daring to disobey her. She makes her store water in the house for everyone.

Sandhya is a 19-year-old outspoken girl who belongs to a middle class family in Pushkar. She aspires to become an IPS officer, and eventually, a collector. Sandhya is a fun-loving, spirited young girl whose dream is an important part of her character. Her parents died due to the bomb atack and her brother Ankur wants Sandhya married to Suraj and lied to Suraj's family and went to USA.

Sooraj is a noble, good-looking and sensitive guy who believes in hard work. He had to become the provider for his family from an early age. Hence, he discontinued his studies after passing tenth standard. He runs a sweet shop and has strived to make it a success. Sooraj's mind is like an open book with no malice or hatred towards anyone.

Plot

This story is about a girl named Sandhya who aspires to be an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer. Will she able to fulfill her dream being a married woman? Supported by her parents after their sudden death, she is taken care of by her brother and sister-in-law. She is forced to get married as her brother gets a job opportunity overseas and wants to get rid of her. Her brother brings her the proposal of Suraj and tells her that Suraj is a well-educated man with an MBA degree. She is forced to accept the proposal and Suraj and Sandhya are married. It is only later that she discovers that her husband is actually a halwaai or sweet - maker.
Then when they came back bhabo see's her cupboard door broken and asks chavi,mohit,vikram and meena and mohit tells the truth that meena did all this. Then she rings meena's parents up to come and tells them what meena's done.
