Pharmacology

The leaf of the tree contains valuable flavones. The pentacyclic triterpines found in leaves possess antimicrobial properties, while the bark shows antihyperglycemic activity. The bark of four diospyrose species found in India also found significant antiplasmocidal effects against P. falciparum.
