Charles Dinn served as Kings Island's Director of Construction, where he designed and built The Beast with a team including Al Collins, Jim Nickell, and William Reed. In 1983, Dinn opened his own corporation in West Chester, Ohio

 and left King's Island. He teamed up with Curtis D. Summers, Inc., an engineering firm in Loveland, Ohio

In 1992, Summers died, and the Dinn Corporation did not develop any more coasters. However, Charles's daughter Denise Dinn Larrick took over and developed Custom Coasters International
