The School is affiliated to CBSE . It's an English medium boarding school which comes under Ministry Of Defence. It has three head of institutes The Principal, The Adam Officer and MIE (Master Inchrage Education). The school educates pupils from class 6th to 12th with main aim to train and prepare the cadets for NDA. Cadets in class 12th are given different responsibility such has school captain and house captain etc. Round the clock activity among cadets is vital for developing comradeship among them which continue to survive even after they pass out of the institute. The School is not merely a centre for scholastic excellence but it also caters for all round development.

Academic campus

Buildings of school are located on two adjacent hills one on Kesarbagh is Academic Building and hostel and residences are located on the other hill some times referred as new campus.
The school houses a library which is biggest among the military schools. Besides Academic block the Kesarbagh Fort also houses Post Office, Police Choki, Swimming Pool, Golf Court, Lawn Tennis Court and craft room.

There are six hostels in all namely Nalanda, Jagan, Shivaji (old name Vikram), Udaibhan, Chittor and Ujjain. along with hostels the new campus have principal residence, Cadet's Mess, Vivekanand Hall, VIP Guest house, Guest House, cafeteria, CSD canteen, MI Room, Staff residence, Temple, Basketball Courts, Lawn Tennis Courts, Gymnasium, Boxing Ring, Obstacles. Stairs from new campus leads to foot hill where play grounds are located for daily games activities. There are three famous lakes in and around the campus namely India Lake, Pakistan Lake and Duck Lake (all of them getting their name due to their physical shape). the campus of school is lush green and widely spread.

NCC is an integral Part of cadet activities and there are hobby clubs catering to demands of specific interests among cadets. Variety of competition organised among cadets in the fields of academic and sports level ensure their all-round development.
The busy and physically tough life style makes a cadet fit for a bright and successful life and gives them a mature outlook for challenges which they shall face.
The school has its own post office, police station and separate and uninterrupted supply of water and electricity.

A typical day in a cadet's life starts at 0500Hrs with PT, followed by breakfast, School assembly, classes at Kesarbagh Fort (with tea break at 1115Hrs) till 1300Hrs, then lunch at cadet's mess, Noon Prep, Evening Games, Wash and change, Evening Prep, Dinner at 2000Hrs and After Dinner Prep until light out at 2200 Hrs.

Climate is Arid type rainy season in school witnesses fairly good rain and have extreme temperature during Summer and Winter season.

Every hostel has two Floors, having Junior Dorm, Middle dorm and Box Room at First Floor and Senior dorm in one side and Preparation Room, Recreation Room and warden office on the other. A house is under command of a House Captain. School is Commanded by a School Captain, School Adjutant, A CCA Captain and a Sports Captain.

All the festivals are celebrated with great zeal but Janamasthami out performs all the others as cadets hunt through night to collect flowers from campus and around during night and decorate their temples throughout the day which are visited by everyone in the evening. School Annual Day which is an yearly event is held in month of December every year, this event sees cultural programme in honour of chief guest (Usually a Senior and Decorated Army Officer) who also distributes prizes among students for achievement in fields of Academics, Co-curricular and Sports activities.The School is not merely a centre for scholastic excellence but it also caters for all round development.

Alumni from school are serving in best capacities in India and abroad. The school is credited for producing finest of citizen with highest morale and best conduct among fellow citizens.
