In 2003, Daniel decided to meld his love of music with his love of art. Drawing from his early fascination with mixed-media, Daniel began to explore the integration of photography and film in Norma Jean's live shows, and started creating live video projection for the band.

In 2007, after 10 years with Norma Jean, Daniel decided to part ways with the band and pursue his own artistic endeavors. He started a film and video company named ISTHMUS Studios (www.isthmusstudio.com). He has shot videos for Oh, Sleeper; Since October; Manchester Orchestra; Sent By Ravens; and others.

After 10 years with them, Davison chose to leave the band Norma Jean. He publicly announced his departure on September 21, 2007 in the following farewell letter posted on the bands website:


Post Norma Jean (2008–2009)

Initially after leaving Norma Jean, Davison fully devoted his time to creating art. He directed and filmed the video for "Now that You're Home" by Manchester Orchestra, released in April 2008.

In 2009 Davison collaborated with Blood Company Management and currently co-manages the bands Dead and Divine, Oceana
