 RFC club as a raw youngster, with the Pontypridd Academy in 2001 and then with the senior squad in 2003.

Initially playing on the wing, Lockyer moved to the inside centre position, making a huge impact as a line breaking ball carrier.

An integral part of Ponty’s successful Welsh Cup campaigns of 2005 and 2006, Lockyer earned a worthy reputation as one of the star players at semi-professional level.

A move to Neath RFC
