DIGEA
Encyclopedia
Digea, the company established by the private national scale television stations (Alpha TV
, Alter Channel
, ANT1
, Makedonia TV, Mega Channel
, Skai TV
and Star Channel
), has undertaken digital broadcasting of television programs for private stations of national range as well as for any other stations choosing to use its services.
The name Digea was not a haphazard choice. It is a combination of two different worlds, two different eras: the modern, digital era and the beginning, the basis of our world, our Earth (Gaia or Gaea in Greek). It is therefore a combination of the words Digital and Gaea (Earth) and, as a result, symbolizes the digital terrestrial platform.
The company’s main area of activity centers on the provision of networking and multiplexing services, both to the above-mentioned shareholders as well as to any legal entity opting to use the company’s services.
As expected, Digea has taken on an active role both in managing the project in question as well as in educating the public and coordinating the market in a responsible and systematic manner.
