. His father is of African ancestry and his mother is Native American. Prior to becoming an actor, Cozart was an established model working in Miami, FL. In his high school years, he was a talented football
and basketball player. He attended King College in Bristol, Tenn. He almost made a professional career out of basketball, but he suffered a foot injury in the NBA Summer Pro League after graduating from college. A demonstration of his skill can be seen in the film White Men Can't Jump
