History

Creative Boom was launched on 24 July 2009 and created by Boomerang, a UK-based digital PR agency.

The idea for Creative Boom came about after its founder Katy Cowan spoke to other freelancers and small businesses on Twitter

 and realised there was a need for a creative community online. Somewhere people could meet, greet, share ideas, raise their profiles and secure more work.

Since its inception, Creative Boom has been recognised by some of the UK's biggest organisations, including Creative England and Arts Council England
