The club was founded in 1970 after buying neighboring club CD Oro

, who was having economical problems not being able to maintain the club financially. The new owners change the clubs name to Club Social y Deportivo Jalisco but kept the clubs yellow and blue colors.

The club took began activity in 1970 playing its first game under name Club Social y Deportivo Jalisco.The club finish d 2nd just 5 points behind the eventual champions Deportivo Toluca F.C..In the 1971-72 tournament the club fail to qualify to the playoff just 9 points the 8th place.In the 1972-73 the club fished last in its group sating to show a weakness in the squad. In the 1973-74 and 1975-76 the club fished in the bottom of the qualification table.
