History

The university began as a school in October 1974 with four students. This was after the Worldwide Evangelization for Christ, a missionary group in Ghana acquired land to start a school. The vision then was to train people for Christian ministry in Ghana and also to train people to help expand the church in northern Ghana. This has now matured to a vision to establish an advanced evangelical, interdenominational, theological University in Africa.

Campus

The university is based on a main campus within Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.

The university runs seven programmes. They are:

Students and faculty

The university has twelve academic and ten administrative and support staff. The student population has now increased into the thousands.

Students' Representative Council

The university has an active students union known as the Students Representative Council. This has existed since 1983.
