Chen Zhongshi is a Chinese author
born in June 1942 in Xi'an
. He started writing prose in 1965,and finished his representative novel White Deer Plain in 1993. In 1979, he became a member of Chinese Writers Association. He was once the vice chairman of the Chinese Writers Association. White Deer Plain won the Mao Dun Literature Prize
in 1996.
. He then got a teaching job in primary school and after two years, he became a senior high school teacher. In 1966, he joined Chinese Communist Party. He was interested in literature and devoted to the career. He became the vice director of culture bureau of Baqiao(灞桥) district of Xi'an in 1980. He was also a member of Writers Association of Shaanxi. In 1985, he became the vice president and he turned into the chairman in 1993. During 2001~2006, he was the vice president of Chinese Writers Association .
