Certified Business Manager

The Certified Business Manager (CBM) is a credential created and administered by the Association of Professionals in Business Management (APBM) https://www.apbm.org/ .. It is designed to "[validate] the mastery of business management knowledge, skills, and abilities and is developed by business practitioners to meet the needs of practicing business managers." https://www.apbm.org/cbm/

An individual is eligible to take the Certified Business Manager examinations by meeting either of the following criteria:
  • An undergraduate/bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or international equivalent and a minimum of four years full-time work experience.
  • A graduate/master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university or international equivalent and a minimum of three years full-time work experience.

Content

The Certified Business Manager examination consists of four parts:
  • Part 1- The Core Exam consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions and covering general management, operations management

Recognition and exemptions

Candidates who successfully complete the Certified Business Manager examination are eligible for:
  • Nine hours of graduate credit toward an MBA or 15 hours undergraduate credit as approved by the American Council on Education
