The present centre was built over a series of developments between 1988 until 1994, and currently has a gross lettable area of 72500 m² (780,383.5 sq ft) and 4,235 parking spaces.

History

The shopping centre was built by the Coles Myer Group. Construction commenced in 1989 after a fire had destroyed the Boans

 complex. Construction joined two separate shopping centres on the western side of Collier Road. Collier Road, which had previously extended southeast from the end of Wellington Road, was rerouted further east to enable the building of the central food court and eastern wing of Galleria. The 1994 redevelopment was designed by the Los Angeles architects RTKL Associates Inc. In 2003 Centro Galleria was acquired from Westfield Group by Centro Properties Group

Centro Galleria is situated in the suburb of Morley and has a three-level carpark, with two levels underground. The Morley Major Bus Interchange is on the western side of the shopping centre and also has a few bus stops around it, serviced by a variety of routes including express services to Perth
