In 1976 the mall was sub-divided into several separate stores, and Hypermarche split into a Towers

. By 1977 Centre 2000 had 60 stores. The mall was completely vacant by the end of the 1990s and was closed and demolished, except for the adjacent Leon's

Some of the mall's anchor tenants were "Cineplex-Odeon Laval Centre 2000" movie theatre, Pinocchio's video arcade, Zeller's and Maxi's.

The property is now part of Centropolis Laval. In early 2011, Centre 2000's parking lot and remaining foundation were demolished to allow for Centropolis' expansion.
