. The city is in the Macon
metropolitan area. It was incorporated March 25, 1958. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 7,148. The town along with many suburban areas in the United States is seeing unprecedented growth in population. It used to be a bedroom community for the nearby growing city of Warner Robins. The town is currently working to develop a type of downtown area. The plans include building a main road with buildings at both sides, and accented with street lamps, fountains, plants, flowers and much more. The town is actively working to attract specialty stores to this expanding development.

In the city the population was spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 33.1% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 8.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.7 males.
