. The new series joined the many celebrity-oriented reality programs already in their lineup, such as It Takes Two and Dancing with the Stars
. It was hosted by Ian "Dicko" Dickson.
Guy Leech
, the eventual winner, or "Sole Survivor" of the show, donated A$100,000 to the charity of his choice, Ride Aid Inc, with the other contestants' charities receiving A$5000 each.
Although better received than the earlier Australian Survivor
, Celebrity Survivor was still only a modest success in the ratings and a follow-up series has not materialised.

There were sixteen contestants overall, divided into two tribes, Moso and Kakula . After five contestants were eliminated, the tribes were combined, or merged, to form one tribe, Tanna . Justin and Nicolle tied 2-2. The jury (Elton, Gabrielle, and David) voted in order to break the tie. All three voted against Nicolle.
Elimination Notes
- Kym: Kym couldn't stand the harsh conditions, and asked to be voted out. She then voted against herself at tribal council, becoming only the second person in Survivor history to do so. (6-0)
- Ben: Ben, the only non-celebrity in the game was targeted and voted out unanimously. (5-1)
- Fiona: After the unexpected tribal swap, Kakula and Moso tribal lines held strong. David fooled around during the immunity challenge, causing Moso to lose. The Kakula alliance targeted Fiona for her weakness and annoyance, and the Moso alliance targeted David for making them lose the immunity challenge. However, Amber decided to betray her alliance and take out Fiona, whom she also clashed with. (3-2)
- Amber: Justin was deeply disturbed by Amber's betrayal, but Amber assured him she wouldn't do that again. However, Justin felt he couldn't trust her anymore so he helped David and Elton betray her and she voted out. (3-1)
- Wayne: After winning the crucial the reward and immunity challenges, Moso regained their power. At Kakula, Guy and Wayne targeted Imogen for weakness. Imogen and Nicolle trageted Wayne as they felt Guy would be more stronger in challenges. Gabrielle was torn between joining her original alliance or sided with the women. In the end, she betrayed Guy and Wayne, and helped Imogen and Nicolle take out Wayne. (3-2)
- Guy: When the Moso tribe was sent to the Kakula camp, they merged into the Tanna tribe. Guy was immediately targeted for his physical strength. (5-2)
- Elton: Elton, the other athlete, was also voted out for being a threat. David was the only one who didn't vote against him (he voted for Gabrielle),(4-1-1)
- Justin: After trying to bribe others to affect their voting strategies, everyone turned on Justin. (4-1)
- Gabrielle: When David won immunity, the women had to turn on each other. David decided to help Imogen and Nicolle vote out Gabrielle, to avoid a tie.
- David: Guy and Justin convinced Imogen and Nicolle to help vote out David. David was bitter about being voted out, but focused his anger on Imogen and Nicolle. (4-1)
- Nicolle: The two alliances clashed at tribal council, with Justin and Nicolle receiving two votes each. When they went to tribal countback, they were still deadlocked with six votes each. The jury then voted, all three against Nicolle. (2-2, Jury: 3-0)
- Imogen: Justin decided to bring his alliance partner Guy to the final two, and voted out Imogen. (1-0)
- Justin: Although praised for being a good player, Justin was criticized for his "bribery scandal" and lost out by one vote. He gained the votes of Nicolle and Imogen. (2-3)
- Guy: Guy was viewed as a great physical and mental player. He gained the votes of Elton, Gabrielle, and David. (3-2)
