. The family originated in the town of Barranca de Santa Clara, Jalisco, with Doroteo Castro and Eduarda Rodríguez as the head patriarchs. One of their children, Ignacio Castro Rodríguez, married María Sabina Villalvaso Corona. Ignacio and María Sabina started the Castro-Villalvaso branch. Their children were:
  • Braulio Castro Villalvaso (born 1864)
  • Fabian Castro Villalvaso (born 1869)
  • Anastasio Castro Villalvaso (born 1870)
  • Ynes Castro Villalvaso (born 1872)
  • Regino Castro Villalvaso (born 1873)


The patriarchs of the Castro-Villalvaso branch died during their residence in the river valley of Barranca de Oblatos, when the Río Grande de Santiago

It is known that Fabian and Regino stayed during their youth in Guadalajara and worked as farmhands for an affluent French

 family. This was probably until the early 1900s, when Fabian and Regino started to work as day laborers and journeyed from the capital to the town of Cocula, and from there to the Hacienda San José de Miravalle

. In the Hacienda, Fabian met his future wife, Francisca Montaño Quintero. Fabian and Francisca stayed in the Hacienda until the early 1920s, and then relocated to the nearby town of San Jerónimo

. It is in San Jerónimo, where Fabian and Francisca cradled the Castro-Montaño branch. Regino met his future wife, Blasia Flores Partida, in the same town. They procreated the Castro-Flores branch.
