Carrie was a top junior golfer and also State MVP in Utah for girls basketball. After being recruited by UCLA, Oklahoma State and New Mexico University, Carrie attended Brigham Young University
from 1998-2002. While at BYU she was a 2-time All American, 4-time All Conference, 2-time Conference Player of the Year, set the BYU record for most tournament victories (6) and was named to the Mountain West Conference All Decade Team in 2009.
After graduating in 2002, Carrie qualified for the LPGA
Tour on her first attempt. Carrie maintained her status through 2004 and qualified for two U.S. Women's Open Championships and spent a year as the volunteer assistant coach of the women's golf team at BYU in 2004-2005. Carrie stepped away from competitive golf while her husband attended law school at the University of Texas but continues to teach lessons.
